Get In TouchFarm Friends Day Nursery provides care for children from 12 months old until they are ready to start school.
It is important that each age group benefits from the appropriate attention, stimulation and encouragement to socialise and develop. Therefore, we established four distinct groups that the children move through as they get older. These groups are Charlie Chicks – Toddlers, Daffy Ducks – Rising 3’s, Percy Piglets – Young Preschool, Percy Pigs – Older Preschool.
Children spend time outside every day. They explore the countryside on our nature trail or learn about the farm animals while exploring the grounds. Each room has its own outdoor space, garden and play area.
Percy Piglets and Percy Pigs – Preschool
There are 2 preschool rooms, Percy Piglets and Percy Pigs. As the names imply, the Piglets room is for the younger children who join this room just before their 3rd birthdays. The Pigs room is when they are a little older and preparing to start school.
In Piglets there is a mixture of free play and adult led activities always with choices for the children. The children learn to be helpful at mealtimes by clearing their plates etc. They also learn to socialise at the tables and wait for each other to finish their meals before heading off to their next activity.
The Pigs room starts to really focus on getting ready for school.
Both rooms have access to a large outdoor play area with more adventurous play and opportunities for games led by our staff.
They go out for a walk daily, making use of the farmyard and the nature trail. At different times of the year, they will see crops growing in the fields and harvesting taking place. Muddy puddles are still a firm favourite on the Nature trail!
